Keep People Housed is seeking a visionary leader at the Director or Associate Director level to lead a homelessness prevention program that is expanding Bay Area wide from its roots in Oakland.  Founded in 2018, Keep Oakland Housed has prevented more than 8,000 families from losing their housing, and had the infrastructure in place to respond rapidly to COVID-19 and ensure that thousands of households were not evicted or displaced. This newly-created position will bring this dynamic collaborative from the three year pilot phase into the future.

This is a strategic leadership and operations position that oversees strategy, policy, fundraising, outreach and administrative and operational oversight for Keep People Housed. A Director level candidate will be expected to demonstrate a solid fund development track record. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordination and execution of strategic efforts as set by collaborative leadership
  • Fundraising to support sustainable operations including actively discovering new institutional, government and private funding opportunities. Manage grant and RFP processes.
  • Manage all KPH Collaborative administrative functions, including but not limited to:
    • Independently direct programs and ensures all contracts, laws, and regulations are met and works as part of the Operations Team to collectively run programs
    • Provide empowering, supportive, and motivational supervision to managers and/or supervisors including hiring, training, and performance management.
    • Implement consumer-centered services that are needs-driven, strengths-based, and culturally relevant.
    • Manage the flow of referrals, intakes, and discharges of participants and ensures accessibility and welcoming of all people.
    • Maintain records and other administrative requirements of all programs; ensure compliance with documentation and data requirements for all funding streams.
    • Never settle for the status quo, implement continuous quality improvement standards, and work with staff to implement systems for CQI.
    • Establish a harmonious and collaborative working relationship with the community and coordinate services as needed to highlight the value and the purpose of programming.
    • Develop new programs and services including fundraising grant writing, speeches, presentations, and more; put on agency, professional, and personal development training.
  • Assure that KPH services are provided in collaboration with all applicable funding streams and regulations; ensure contract compliance with all funders to include grant management, presentations, and reports.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, in social services, business or related field
  • Minimum of three years experience managing multi-year government social services contracts in excess of $1M annual budget 
  • Demonstrated capacity leading diverse and multi-disciplinary teams toward a common goal required.
  • Demonstrated intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word/Excel, ability to type 45 WPM.
  • Valid California driver’s license, personal vehicle, and proof of personal vehicle insurance coverage and the ability to drive for work.  DMV printout required.          

Compensation & Benefits

  • Director level salary of $160,000, exempt dependent on proven fund development experience. 
  • Associate Director salary of $130,000, exempt.
  • Fully paid medical, dental, vision, and life insurance coverage for employees and children.
  • 32 days off (PTO/Holiday), increasing with tenure, includes your birthday off. 
  • 403b and after 1 year of service BACS matching contribution.
  • After one year of service $3,000 per year student loan, tuition or CEUs. Up to $15,000 over 5 years.
